Hi,
I've had my Frenchi about 6weeks now and he hasn't uttered a bark. I was just wondering if that was normal. I have two boxers as well and they are very talkitive, especially when I get home or someone comes to the door. When he plays crazy he kind of gives off a little grrrrr but nothing close to a bark. I love that he's quiet, I was just curious if they all are. -Tiffini

My Frenchie, Stitch, rarely barks. We discovered he had a "voice" when we tried to crate train him during the night. By 4am and non-stop barking, we stopped trying. Other than that, he hasn't uttered a peep other than once when he saw "something" in the backyard at night. Frankly, I'm fine with the lack of barking. What he lacks in that category, he more than makes up for in snoring.

Cheers,
Kierstin and "Stitch"

Tifini my male frenchie Bear rarley barks and he is about 4 yrs old now. It bothers me at times but on the other hand he is always by my side. He is so close to my side there are times when I am looking for him and calling his name and my husband will say Judy he is right by your leg and sure enough he is. I know he hears me as he cocks his head to the left or to the right as I am talking to him but as far as barking goes does not happen very often. My two girls will bark up a storm when someone comes to the door and when they play but Bear just sits and listens lets the girls take care of it. He is such a funny guy. I will never be with out a frenchie now that I've had one. They are so funny. They just make you smile when you look at them. Enjoy your frenchie they are wonderful little creatures.

I think it was a few months before Chocula's first bark. He mainly barks during play and to be let back in to the house. He also barks when he does something bad. Perhaps that's his way of apologizing. tongue It's a very cute bark that won't disturb the neighbors.

I have 4 and only one is a barker, and she has only 2 speeds, full tilt and stop. So it fits that she is the barker, lol. One is a bouncer, one is a chatter bug, but not barker, the other is timid, they are all so different. Dont think I have ever owned a breed where each one is so different like the Frenchies, love them to dealth and could never be without myne

Lulu is one year old and rarely barks. When she does it's usually when I have the vaccuum or hairdryer on!

Miss Bea grew up with barky Dachshund sisters, she does bark when she gets excited, but she does not keep it up like he sisters the doxies do. She yodels, and she talks to us a lot with her yodeling and whines, she is just so funny and entertains the whole family with her antics every day.
