Hi everyone,

Let's try Wallace Park. I will check the forecast closer to the date to make sure that it will be a dry day. Hopefully it will be a nice sunny and crisp morning. If not, then I will try to move this to an indoor setting.

p.s. Please send me your thoughts for our winter meetups....brrrrrh. Also, sorry to have missed you all at the January meetup. Rosko has been under the weather but doing better. See you in February.

Shall we meet up at Lexi Dog on the west side for January? This is a free playgroup (they accept $1 donations). On Sundays from 10am until noon dogs under 30lbs have play time.

It may be a bit cold to meet at the park ;)

I hope you all are having a relaxing holiday season.

p.s. Please send me your thoughts for our winter meetups....brrrrrh

Many many thanks to David Childs for our December photo shoot!! Please see the link below and hopefully you should have received an email regarding this too. We raised $535 dollars this year for the French Bulldog Rescue Network. If you didn't get a chance to particpate they are in significant need of contributions and have many volunteering opportunities: http://www.frenchbulldogrescue.org/

FREE PROFESSIONAL HOLIDAY PHOTO SHOOT TO BENEFIT SHELTER

We're getting an earlier start this year for holiday cards, etc......

For those of you that are new or may not have participated the last couple of years. A friend of ours who is a professional photographer volunteered to take holiday photos and we all made donations (whatever you would like) to a no-kill animal shelter. This year let's donate to the French Bulldog Rescue Network: http://www.frenchbulldogrescue.org/htdocs/help.html

Please come and help out those puppies that are not as fortunate as our Frenchies! All donations are tax deductible.

Dave is excited to help out again this year. It was so nice of him! He gave us all the picture files for free. He is also offering private sessions at 20% for our group throughout the year and he will make prints for you are at a discounted price if you are interested.

Here is his weblink from last two years:

2007: http://www.davidchildsphotography.com/FrenchBullDogClub07/
2006: http://www.davidchildsphotography.com/FamilyDogs06/content/index.html

So our session with him will be from 1:00-4:00 pm. Please send me an email with the time you would like to have your photo shoot if you get a chance and I will post to our website. Drop ins are also okay and non-Frenchie's are more then welcome! I will provide some props, my mom's sleigh again and a tree, etc., but please bring your costumes and/or props if would like. Also, bring the whole family if you want a family shoot. We will have the hot cider waiting for you on the stove :)

We are located on the corner of SE 29th & Tibbetts which is between Division and Powell.

Break out your costumes....it's pumpkin time!

Let's meet at the big red barn at the Pumpkin Patch on Sauvie Island. The hayrides start at 10am and that's when everything else opens up. We can take a ride out to the patch and grab a pumpkin or two and take a group photo. Last year there were some great costumes.

Sometimes it can be muddy so wear your rain boots or old sneakers. Please be sure to bring doodie bags and leashes (required at the Patch) and some water. Don't forget your cameras

Thank you!

We had great feedback on Wallace Park. The area was much bigger and fenced in with a picnic table and great big trees for shade. There is a nice area to play catch also, along with a basketball court and play area for children. Let's try this park again!

Wallace Park is a large shared park in NW Portland, at 25th and Pettygrove. The off-leash area is at the northeast corner of the park. The area is large enough for long game of fetch. There is a water fountain nearby, as well as garbage cans, but no poop bags are provided so come prepared. The area borders 25th and Raleigh, so keep an close eye on your dog.

p.s. October is right around the corner so start thinking about your costumes and let me know if you are interested in going to the Pumpkin Patch again this year. Also, what do you think about shooting our holiday photos (benefits for the no-kill shelter) this year in October at the Pumpkin Patch?? Let me know if you would rather do this in November or early December. Thanks!

p.p.s.s. I posted a couple of pictures under "photos" from our last outing. Please add in any other photos you would like to share!

p.s. A HUGE thank you to Peter and Daryl for organizing July's meetup and opening up their home and garden paradise for us all. Also for working their magic to have us join in on the Mississippi Parade. Thank you to everyone for bringing tons of water, wagons, doody bags and parasols for shade.

Peter and Dayrol have invited us over to their home! Their yard is amazing. I can't wait to see it in person. There will be snacks and beverages and if you would like please bring your favorite snacks to share.

We will meet at their house at 10:00 am and then around 11:15 am we will walk to join the parade on N. Mississippi (2 blocks from their house). This is part of the Mississippi Street Fair.

Costumes are welcome. Please bring tons of water and doodoo bags. I think that I might bring a little red wagon to help escort those that need a lift. If you have them this might be a good thing to have handy for them and you could even decorate it ;)

Let's alternate. So this meetup will be on a Sunday and next time it will be held on a Saturday. Due to the warmer weather let's meet at 10am. If you would like you can bring a blanket or folding chairs. There is plenty of shade under the trees. Maybe we can orchestrate a group photo by the pond?!

p.s. Is anyone ready for a picnic or bbq or outing to Sauvie Island? We could pick berries and add them to some ice cream or yogurt, or just bring the berries to the beach. We could start early to avoid overheating our Frenchies. Please let me know what you are interested in and I will try to arrange.

Is the sun going to come out today?

Let's try Laurelhurst Park and cross your fingers for no rain. I will check the weather forecast closer to the date and if is suppose to be dreary maybe we can meet indoors.

Hope to see you there!

p.s. Please let me know your ideas for upcoming meetings. We are getting close to BBQ season!
