MEETUP DISCRIPTION :
Socializing is very important for our four legged friends....and here's why:
"By exposing our dogs to different kinds of people, animals and environments, we can help them develop confidence and ease. This goes a long way in helping them become resilient in the face of unsettling situations.
Dogs have a sensitive period for socialization between the ages of 3 and 12 weeks. This means that pleasant exposures to people, other dogs and other animals during this time will have long-lasting influences on the sociability of your dog. Well socialized dogs tend to be friendlier and less fearful.
Socialization does not end at puppyhood. While the foundation for good behavior is laid during the first few months, good owners encourage and reinforce social skills and responsiveness to commands throughout the dog's life.
Socializing your dog is so easy and so much fun that a lot of people fail to take it seriously. However, without adequate socialization, your dog may become fearful and is likely to develop two of the most serious and hard-to-resolve problems, biting and fighting.
This is why you should socialize your dog throughout its life."
SOME QUOTES ABOUT THE FRENCH BULLDOG:
"The French Bulldog is happy in any loving environment. They are house dogs whose niche in life is to be an adored pet. While principally bred to be companions, the FB is remarkably intelligent and serves as a good watchdog. The Frenchie has the appearance of an active, intelligent, muscular dog of heavy bone, smooth short coat, compactly built and of medium or small structure. Expression alert, curious and interested."
(unknown quote)
"French Bulldog's are a very special breed of dog and once you invite them into your life you will never be the same. Frenchie's are considered the "little clowns" of the dog world, are fun to be around and always make you laugh. "
David Ray (organizer of FB-NYC-UWS)
"Imagine an enormous pair of bat ears and a flat, monkey-like face with shiny shoe-button eyes atop the sleek, muscular physique of a little canine bodybuilder. Roll all of this into the friendliest package possible, add a dash of stubbornness, and you have a French Bulldog or a Frenchie as they are called."
